I am a self-taught, observational artist, working primarily in oil paint. I live and paint in London, but spend a lot of time in my native Wiltshire and in Lebanon.
I am inspired by light and colour, and paint with a sense of honesty and realism. My choice of subject matter ranges from landscapes and urban scenes to quiet, domestic still-lifes, a selection of which can be seen below.

Pieces available for purchase are listed on the website and I undertake a number of commissions each year.

Strada Easel Challenge 2023
This January, I signed up to the rather ambitious challenge, run bi-annually by Strada Easel, to paint from life each day.

It was a brilliant way to jump-start the year and, although there were one or two days where I had to drag myself to the easel, the motivation to keep painting was there. I was amazed at the change a month could make to both my painting and my practice.
My kitchen rapidly filled with canvases and my Instagram filled with some wonderful new friends and co-challengees.

Some of the paintings are now available for sale through this website:
British Contemporary Art Awards 2023
In January 2023 I was extremely honoured to be a finalist in the British Contemporary Art Awards 2023 with my painting Frosty Gateway, Wiltshire:

I painted this view on a trip to my childhood home in Wiltshire in some of the beautiful frosts we had before Christmas.
The early morning light on the heavy frost looked almost snow-like, both on the ground and on the Wiltshire Downs in the distance.
Despite the cheesy publicity picture (above) and the extreme dedication of my friends, relatives and Instagram followers, I was up against some very talented competition and didn't win the public vote, but it was an honour to be chosen and a lot of fun competing for votes!
