About
Eleanor approaches a wide range of subjects with a fresh enthusiasm and an appreciation for the often-unnoticed beauty of the mundane and domestic.
I am an observational artist, painting in oils from life and, where possible, en plein air. Inspired by light and colour, my paintings range from landscapes and urban scenes to quiet, domestic still-lifes. Whether a seascape, a cup of tea or a lemon, each painting is a quiet moment in time, a glimpse of beauty and calm in a frenetic world.
Entirely self-taught, I started painting in 2020, as a source of sanity in a national lockdown, having previously worked in communications and marketing across the Art and Charity worlds. I became a professional artist in September 2021.

I have been lucky enough to have my work exhibited in London and across the UK, notably at the Mall Galleries in 2021 and 2022 for Art for Youth London, regularly through Highgate Contemporary Art Gallery, and recently in Green & Stone's 2023 Works on Paper exhibition. I have been chosen as a finalist in the 2023 British Contemporary Art Awards and the 2022 Holly Bush Emerging Artists Prize, and am currently shortlisted for both the NEAC annual exhibition and the Royal Academy Summer show this year.
My work is currently in private collections across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and North America.

I live in London but regularly spend time in my native Wiltshire and my husband’s country of Lebanon, where, inspired by the natural beauty of the landscapes and the charm of everyday objects, I can't resist regularly getting the easel out.
